Beverly Wohrle
Artistic Director/ Instructor

Bev,Artistic Director/ Instructor, has a BA in Dance & Musical Theater from Indiana University.  Performing credits include member of the Indianapolis Ballet Theatre, soloist for the Gregory Hancock Dance Co. & the Butler Ballet.  She also performed in or choreographed productions at Marian College, IU Opera, Indpls. Opera Company, Edyvean Repertory Theater, Civic Theater, Carmel Community Players, & Footlite Musicals.  She won the Encore Award for Best Dancer for her role in “Can Can”.  Bev has been teaching 27 yrs.& is Director of Fishers Faithful Feet Co. & Co-director of the dance ministry, “Praise in Motion” at E. 91st St. Christian Church & mother to 3 girls.

Stephanie Wells
Instructor

Stephanie has a BA in Dance from Butler University & was a member of the Butler Ballet Co. She is former Mrs. Indiana and continues to be involved in pageants as producer and/or choreographer.   She was a professional cheer- leader for the NBA IN Pacers & performed for Walt Disney. Stephanie is also a regional sales rep for a medical supply company.  She is a member of “Praise In Motion” at E. 91st St. Church & has 2 children.

Mandy English
Instructor

Mandy graduated cum laude from Butler University with a degree in Elementary Education and a kindergarten endorsement.  She taught first grade in Lawrence Township for 3 years and now stays home with her daughter, Ella, and her son, Kenny.  Mandy choreographed the Miss Indiana Scholarship Pageant for two years and then competed in the pageant performing a ballet solo as her talent.  A former Miss Limberlost, Miss Queen of Lakes, and Miss Noble County; Mandy studied, competed, performed and taught with the Tri-County Dance Academy in Kendallville, IN.  Her theater performances include such titles as “Peter Pan”, “Cinderella”, “Funny Girl”, “The Secret Garden”, and she choreographed her high school’s production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”  Mandy currently dances with Praise In Motion dance ministry.

Pearl Riggs
Instructor

Pearl has a Bachelors degree in Physical Education with teaching minors in Dance & French.  She is a former member of the Southern Illinois Dance Repertory Theatre.  She also teaches children’s fitness classes, having developed a program she teaches in schools.  Pearl is an active member of E.91st Street Christian Church in the dance ministry and contemporary worship team.  She directs “Precious Hearts” dance ministry.  Pearl has 3 children.

Cami Zook
Instructor

Cami graduated summa cum laude from Anderson University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. She is a kindergarten teacher at Eagle Elementary School in Brownsburg, IN. Cami resides in Speedway with her husband, Seth, who is also an elementary school teacher. Dance has been a huge part of Cami’s life and something she is quite passionate about. She grew up studying tap, jazz, and ballet at The Dancers’ Place Dance Studio in Avon, IN. In college, she was a member of the pom squad and performed in various productions including, Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, Candles and Carols, and various productions at Eastside Church of God. At Anderson University, she also took dance classes from Roberta Wong and fellow faculty member Doug King. Cami currently dances with Praise in Motion dance ministry at East 91st Street Christian Church.

Melissa McInnis

Instructor

 

Melissa McInnis holds a B.A. in Dance and Performance Studies from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Melissa is originally from Portland, Maine where she studied at The Portland Ballet and Casco Bay Movers. After graduating college, Melissa moved to Boston where she studied with Marcus Schulkind at Green Street Studios. While living in New England, Melissa performed with Influxdance, The Aminus Ensemble and many independent choreographers. Melissa moved to Indianapolis with her husband in 2007. She performs frequently with Motus Dance Theater as well as No Exit. With experience in many dance disciplines, her teaching experience includes ballet, modern, jazz and tap and for very young children up through adults.

Doug King

Instructor

Doug King is a musical theater actor, dancer, choreographer and director.  He is on the dance faculty at Anderson University and is Co-Director of Praise In Motion, a liturgical dance company at E. 91st Street Christian Church. He graduated from Ball State University, where he received a degree in theater. Doug toured as an actor in the first national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Donnie Osmond. He has also worked very extensively as an actor/dancer in Chicago, Indianapolis and throughout Canada. Most of his current work can be seen at Beef and Boards Dinner Theater. He has played such roles as Will Parker in Oklahoma!, Cosmo Brown in Singin' in the Rain, Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, Rueben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Frank Schultz in Show Boat, the Jester in Once Upon a Mattress, Rooster in Annie, and many more.

Lise Hearn

Instructor

 

Ms. Hearn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Magna Cum Laude Degree in Dance from the International University of San Diego, CA.  Ms. Hearn’s dance training began with Gail Grant and continued at Indiana University, Bloomington receiving a scholarship under the direction of Nicolas Berizof.   She also studied with such notables as Rosella Hightower and Jose Ferran in Cannes, France; Christine Du Boulay and Richard Ellis in Chicago; as well as Sulamisth Messerer, Jurgen Schneider and Woytec Lowski.  Lise has performed with Feld Ballet NY, Colorado Ballet, Dayton Ballet, Nevada Dance Theatre, United States International Ballet and Ruth Page Ballet.  Some of her leading roles occurred in such favorite ballets as Raymonda, Don Quixote, Pas de Quatre, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Graduation Ball, Petrouchka, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Serenade, Giselle, Nutcracker, Sacre du Printemps, Carmina Burana and Swan Lake.  She also can be seen in the television production of Die Fliedermaus, directed by Larry Long.  Lise received a series of scholarships for Performance and for the Teachings of the Russian Syllabus from the International Ballet Seminar.  She has given Master Classes for several teacher organizations; Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ; St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN; and Regis - Loretto Heights College, Denver, CO.  Before arriving in Indianapolis, she was on faculty, teaching ballet and character, at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and was the certified Pilates Instructor of Rehabilitation for Cirque du Soleil.

Casey Cawthon
Instructor

 

Casey began her dance studies in jazz at eight years old and quickly found it was something she was very passionate about. She later studied hip-hop, street dance, ballet and other dance forms. She teaches hip-hop and choreographs for high school dance teams. She has studied dance in New York City and various other locations. She combines her technical jazz movements with the hip-hop similar to that of Wade Robson and current hip-hop styles. She was on the Hamilton Southeastern Dance Team for three years competing on the highest level and participated in a dance ensemble that placed fourth in the state. Casey has danced at the Indy 500, the Fishers Freedom Festival, American Cabaret Theater and for the Pacers Half-time Show. She is currently a student at IUPUI studying business communications.

Sarah Hammer
Instructor

 

Sarah fell in love with ballet from her very first pair of ballet slippers at age 4. From that young age, she studied under Sue Van Voorhis and later studied and graduated from the Jordan College Academy of Dance at Butler University. She also studied with the Butler Ballet program as an early admissions student in High School, and danced with the Jordan Dance Ensemble. At age 18, she received her first job as a professional ballet dancer with North Carolina Dance Theater. The following year, she moved to Austria where she found a deep love for the country. It was there that she danced professionally at the Grazer Oper Haus as well as the Austrian Youth Ballet where she choreographed for the company for six years. Some of her favorite rolls include Aurora from The Sleeping Beauty, It’s a Good Day, and Christiana Medina's Work in Progress. Concurrently, she taught at two ballet schools, teaching ballet, modern and jazz dance for ages 3 to Adult. Sarah now lives in Indianapolis where she will be teaching at Dance Creations and is studying at IUPUI. She looks forward to teaching the young dancers, and enhancing their dance education through a deep love and passion for dance along with her technical expertise.

Emily Stevely
Instructor

 

Emily has a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and minors in Dance and Psychology from Valparaiso University. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist. While in college Emily performed with and choreographed for the Valparaiso University Dance Ensemble and the VU Liturgical Dance Troupe. Dance has always been a huge part of Emily’s life, and is her one true passion. Her love for dance began at age 3, with her first dance class at The Dance Centre’ in Wapakoneta, OH. Through out her years at The Dance Centre’ she studied ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Emily enjoys teaching young children up through adults, and sharing her love and passion of dance with her students. Emily is also a member of "Praise in Motion" dance ministry at E. 91st St. Christian Church.
